The Solar Plexus Chakra and its meaning for the human body
The Solar plexus chakra is sometimes referred to as the Stomach or Navel Chakra and comprises the 3rd primary chakra of the human body. It and can be found above the navel roughly at height of the diaphragm on the front and rear of the body.
In Sanskrit the third chakra is called Manipura chakra which can be translated into the “place or home of the jewel”, as it is considered the house of the personality. Its main purpose is to help us actively design our life through the powerful conversion of our thoughts and wishes into an abundant reality. As a lot of our thoughts are largely stimulated by our visual impressions of the world around us the solar plexus chakra is connected to the sense of seeing. Because of its transforming qualities it is related to the element of fire.
On a physical level the solar plexus chakra is associated with the lower back, the whole abdomen area, the digestive system including liver, gallbladder, stomach and spleen as well as the vegetative nervous system. As this chakra further governs the pancreas it plays a vital role in the blood sugar/salt level of the body. The third chakra does not only govern the physical act of digestion. It also converts all thoughts and emotions that form our personality, the way we perceive the world and ultimately our reality.
As the solar plexus chakra is related to one’s personal strength and power, people with a balanced open chakra have a healthy self-esteem and integrity to their disposal. Through clarity and vital actionability they are capable of converting their thoughts and dreams and bringing them into reality.
Important for the development of the solar plexus chakra is the time between 5th and 12th year. During this period a lot of our thinking, the way how we relate to the world and therefore our personality is formed. During this time period it is of major importance to experience own achievements and to receive honest positive and constructive feedback especially from parents, but also teachers.

Their incapability of allowing, processing and showing feelings may manifest as eating disorders, diabetes, obesity or diseases of liver, gallbladder and spleen.
An imbalance or over activity of the solar plexus chakra will show in exaggerated ambitions, inconsiderateness, flaming temper or eagerness for power and dominance.
